Background & Objective: Using novel methods of clinical evaluation is an important policy of educational institutions. Logbooks are among the most effective, novel techniques of clinical activity evaluation. The present study aimed to design, implement, and evaluate an electronic logbook to enhance the quality of evaluating operating room and anesthesiology field apprentices.Materials and Methods: This was a combined research. In the qualitative stage, field apprenticeship logbooks were developed using the Delphi method in a purpose-based manner. Following that, the web-based electronic version was designed for Android. In the quantitative stage, clinical evaluation was performed on 30 BSc students of operating room and anesthesiology at Sabzevar School of Paramedical Sciences, Iran. At the end of the semester, a satisfaction scale was completed by the students and analyzed using descriptive statistics.Results: In total, operating room students of the seventh semester (n=18) and anesthesiology students of the eighth semester (n=12) were enrolled in the study. The mean age of the participants was 21-22 years. The operating room and anesthesiology students had favorable and excellent satisfaction with all the items of the clinical apprenticeship evaluation using the electronic logbook. Conclusion: According to the results, using an electronic logbook by clinical professors could enhance the performance of students and motivate students to increase their clinical competence in conducting various procedures in the operating room during the apprenticeship period.

Background: Clinical education is the most costly element of nursing programs. One of the importantbasics of nursing education comes into account. The clinical education course is important landmark in nursing education, the first professional capabilities of students to be established. This qualitative study was conducted in the emergency department . Materials and Methods: This study is qualitative research with content analysis. The process of data collection consists of 20 semi-structured interviews and in-depth with the nurses in the emergency department (six nursing students and two nursing directors of wards, four nursing educators, eight nursing personnel) with notes field. By interview with actual experiences of nurses in clinical response, four open questions were collected. Data were analyzed with the using qualitative content analysis. Results: Data analysis resulted in the extraction of nine classes and three represent the experiences and perceptions of emergency roomnurses from clinical education and include the environment (Communications, safety environmental, environmental equipment), education (patient education, personnel training and training students) and performance of the director of sector (the role of management in the emergency department of education, the role of the matron of education, the role of the service provider's staff, communications, safety environmental, environmental equipment), education (patient education, personnel training and training students) and the performance of the sector (the role of management of the emergency department in education, the role and function of the mananger in education, the role and function of the service provider's staff). Conclusion: Research findings based on the experiences of students, staff and educator showed some effective factors such as the patient's face to face training, to gain positive experience and some negative experiences such as lack of useable techniques that have been taught the students in the learning environment at the university like that quality in clinic, lack of equipment, and workload of personnel. Considering all the ideas, authorities will be able to identify the clinical education problems, plan appropriate training programs, and promote the quality of their clinical training.

Background and Purpose: Evaluation of puberty stages is important to assess adolescent health. This study has been done with the aim of determination of the average age of onset of puberty and its relationship with Body Mass Index (BMI) in male students of Sabzevar city in the North East of Iran in 1390.
Methods and Materials: This cross - sectional study was conducted on 252 male students of secondary schools and high schools of Sabzevar, Iran, with the age of 11-18 years who were selected by probability and multistage sampling. Data were collected through a Tanner standardized questionnaire; afterwards, measuring of height and weight and BMI calculation were performed. Data were analyzed in SPSS 15 using chi-square test, t-test, ANOVA and Bonfronie post hoc test, analysis of covariance, Spearman correlation coefficient and Kappa agreement coefficient; significance level was considered as 0.05.
Results: To conduct this study, we selected a group of researchers who were trained for the initiation of project for assessing puberty in male schools in order to increase the accuracy of determining the Tanner stages. Students were examined for their height and weight, size of penis and testicles, and the manner of pubic and axillary hair growth as well as also voice changes. Mean final growth stage of testicles and scrotum (G5 stage), pubic hair (P5 stage), were measured to be 16.40 ± 1.65 and 16.79 ± 1.19 years respectively, and their mean BMI at P2 and G2 were 20.96±4.1 and 19.49±3.66 kg /m2 respectively.
Conclusion: Regarding to the declining age of puberty and its relationship with BMI, health systems should focus on training programs and encouraging teenagers to begin changing their lifestyle. Age of puberty onset in male students is similar to many other countries but determining the precise status of puberty in Iranian children requires further studies in different provinces, rural and urban areas as well as longitudinal studies.

Background and Purpose: Nurses are the biggest service providers in the health system and are expected to enjoy a satisfactory quality of life in order to provide satisfactory health care to the clients. The present study was conducted to determine the quality of life of nurses in Sabzevar hospitals. Methods and Materials: This cross sectional deh1ive and analytical study involved 69 nurses selected through non-random sampling employed at 3 hospitals in Sabzevar Iran. Relevant data were collected through the administration of SF36 questionnaire. The obtained data were analyzed in SPSS using t-test ANOVA and correlation. Results: Minimum and maximum scores of physical dimension were 1050 and 2200 respectively (mean being 1720±270); in the mental aspect minimum and maximum were 475 and 1400 (mean being 1065±24). The least mean of life quality was obtained from nurses in the dialysis ward (2471±450) and the highest from nurses in ICU (290±197). Conclusion: The quality of life score in mental aspect was lower than the physical aspect; and the majority specified an average quality of life.

Background and purpose: Pain relief is a basic need and right of any patient as well as a priority in nursing. However, postoperative pain control have been inadequate for years with no significant progress. This research was intended to deter mine the effect of nurses' pain management or reducing patients' abdominal postoperative pain.
Methods and Materials: In this quasi-experimental study, deta collection instruments were pain and demographic information questionnaire and a visual scale for pain control (0-10). Samples were surgery candidates at Sabzevar Emdad Hospital in Sabzevar, Iran, selected in a one-month period by poisson distribution and their specifications. Control group sampling was done with 65 patients and demographic data were gathered. Before intervention, the vital signs charts were corrected in patients' recordings by adding "pain" as fifth vital sign so that it is measured every time other vital signs are controlled; for each pain scale, appropriate interrentions were considered. Interventions included 3 sessions of 45-60 minutes training and orientation for nurses to perform pain management program. Designed care giving was conducted for 60 experimental patients for one month. Then their pain scores were measured. The obtained data were analyzed using chi-square.
Results: The findings revealed that patients experienced less pain 72 hours after surgery in comparison with the first 24 hours; so that within 72 hours of hospitalzation after intervention, 38.6% of the patients scaled 3-5 degrees of pain and in the first 24 hours after interrention, 41.7% of the patients expressed very severe pain scores of 8-10.
Conclusion: The study findings indicated that, nurses ' pain management can lead to appropriate and timely pain control in postoperative abdominal patients.
